About the Show

This a show based in a love of old educational movies and live music performance.
The show is hosted by Kc Stanton who is also the host of Kansas Cities "Rural Grit, Happy Hour", a live show held every Monday at The Brick. Kc is sometimes also known as his alter ego "Rap Jackrabbit", a large red bunny who makes public service annoucement television spots and records his distintive rap songs. As the shows producer, Joel Sanderson is the behind the scenes guy who glues all of the elements of the show together.

The Producer
The Junkyard and the Rabbit is the co-creation of the show's producer Joel Sanderson and it's host Kc Staton. Joel's been working with old films his whole life and has been staging movie shows ever since he was a kid. Their were several incarnations of this movie show presented in different live formats, years before the production on The Basement Sublet of Horror began. "M.T. Pockets Budget Film Fest" was a live stage show that played at the Wichita Center for the Arts in Wichita, Kansas for six years from 1996 to 2002. Preceded by "The Escape' Drive-in" an outdoor drive-in movie theme party that was held in Vinland, Kansas from 1989 to 1994.

Junkyard and the Rabbit is part of a long running series of movie shows produced by Joel Sanderson beginning with The Escape' Drive-in movie show in 1989, through M.T. Pockets Budget Film Fest and then to The Basement Sublet of Horror.

BSOH is based on Joel's nostalgia for vintage horror hosts from the past, especially "The Host and Rodney" show from Wichita's television history. The basic concepts of BSOH are a loving parody of "The Host and Rodney", BSOH includes a lonely house on the hill in the shows opening segment as a homage to the host's original TV program which was also known as "Nightmare".

The show has run for twelve seasons with over one hundred episodes on it's broadcast roster that have been broadcast on television and cable stations across the country.
